HUGE NEWS!!! The Friends of One Tree Hill are thrilled to announce that Ameena Rojee will be our inaugural photographer-in-residence! More details soon, but Ameena will be building towards a publication and an exhibition, as well as other projects, and generally capturing the spirit of the Hill on its journey through the year. We are beyond hyped to be working with this extraordinarily talented photographer.
*Ameena Rojee (she/her) is a Croydon-based photographer, writer, and educator, making work revolving around our relationship with the natural world, with a focus on adventure, the outdoors, walking, urban farming, land conservation, and traditional practices. Both her artistic practice and personal life are heavily influenced by a curiosity about how we relate to place, and she loves to make work which invites people to connect with the natural world in fleeting, surprising, and joyful ways. An internationally exhibited and published artist, she was most recently selected as a winner in British Journal of Photography’s nationwide Portrait of Britain exhibition, and she has been published in several monographs including ‘Crocus Valley’ (RRB Photobooks, 2023), a photobook and love letter to her hometown of Croydon. As of 2025, Ameena is also a North Downs Way ambassador and a London National Park City Ranger.*
