A heroic Friend of One Tree Hill on last Saturday’s workday.

Marking the National Day of Action for Nature, Parks and Green Spaces, we took on the unglamorous but rewarding job of a deep litter-pick among the trees of the hill, as well as on the meadow and around the gun emplacement.

No more cigarette butts, bottle tops or dead vapes.

Many thanks as always to our brave and beautiful volunteers.

Do note that we are now in nesting season, so there won’t be any volunteer days for a little while .

Workdays are normally the third Saturday of the month. Next month, however, our chair John will be leading a walk on the hill as part of the Urban Tree Festival on Saturday 16th May, called ‘The History of One Tree Hill, Told Through its Trees’. Meet at the top of Honor Oak Rise at 10.30am; finishing at 12.00noon. Get it in the diary!! @urbantreefest
